Delitzsch – your base for exploring Central Germany
The picturesque little town of Delitzsch is very close to Leipzig; it is just a 20-minute trip by rapid-transit S-Bahn to Leipzig market square.
Some of the main highlights of Delitzsch are its baroque palace, medieval fortifications and historical town centre. Visitors to the palace can see the historical ladies’ chambers or climb its almost 50-metre tower, with a view of the neighbouring baroque garden and the ingenious defensive system made up of a moat, an outer ward and the town walls. The town also has two towers dating back to around 1400.
The large town park and nearby lake district provide excellent leisure facilities. Everything is possible here, from nature observation to water sports.
At the same time, Delitzsch offers all the amenities of a town at a central administrative level. There is a wide range of hotels, guesthouses and restaurants, and all kinds of shops selling regional products, everyday commodities and gifts.
A connection via the A9 and A14 motorways means that you can quickly travel to some of Germany’s most popular destinations: Berlin and Potsdam, Dresden, the Wörlitz Garden Kingdom and the Bauhaus in Dessau, or the wine region of Saale-Unstrut can all be reached in just 30 to 120 minutes. In the evening, you can relax after the day’s excitement in Delitzsch.
